I use a trac ball for the computer and the one that I had for about 6 years finally bit the dust last Sunday. I had a regular mouse that came with the computer that I am using until I get my new trac ball. I ordered one from Wal Mart.com yesterday. It's a wireless one. First time I have seen one. What surprised me was that it was cheaper than what I paid for my old corded trac ball.

Is it a rechargeable wireless mouse Capt? If not it can be quite annoying when the batteries start to go in the mouse. Just a heads up  (my brother went back to the corded variety after wireless frustrations).
Personally I use the trackpad still and I actually prefer it to a mouse. Didn't think it would turn out that way at all after I was initially forced to use it.

We have a cute little mini cordless mouse for our laptop, it does however chew up batteries for breakfast...LOL for the desktop, I use a laser mouse would never go back to roller ball type.. Enjoy!

Capt you will like the wireless mouse, I have had one for 2-3 years now. Mine is a Logitech and it may just be this brand and newer ones maybe not do it, but it goes thru batteries pretty quick, so keep some close at hand. Plus, I have been told that if you put the mouse on a white surface when it is not in use, the batteries will last longer.

I love my little wireless mouse, wouldn't trade it for anything.
It uses the same size battery that my digital camera uses,
so I just keep some batteries charged and ready to go.

Sorry to say that from what I've heard the initial cost of the mouse isn't worth it as the batteries have to be changed so often which can be frustrating.

Mine uses a single AA battery, which (for me) lasts about 3-4 months.

The one I ordered is a Logitech and it uses AA batteries. My camera also uses them so I always have a box of them on hand.

I have a logitech mouse and keyboard. No wheel. It's flat on the bottom with a red light. I've only changed the batteries once. We bought it because our keyboard was worn out and we wanted a bigger keyboard. The biggest one was wireless. We like them both. Dooley
Oops! dr says our new keyboard and mouse are Microsoft. The old one was Logitech. Sorry! Dooley

I got my new toy today. It takes 1 AA battery. I love it already! I buy batteries for my camera 12 in a package so I always have them on hand. So I don't think battery usage will be much of a problem. My son has a cordless keyboard and has had it for almost a year. He has yet to replace the battery in it and he is on the computer more than me!

We have a Logitech Lazer mouse ......wireless.
We also have a cradle with it to recharge....No batterys needed...........
