|
When Ron went out a bit ago, he came in to tell me what happened. The dog was loose, and his pen was moved, literally by strong winds, and a spruce tree uprooted. My trellis blown over, and sphere knocked down and my garden bench, our big hibiscus plants too.. My jeep was ok and the pergola survived,no damage! thank you God!
a shaken dog..
first sign of seeing damage.
dog house still standing(but no pen)
here it is.
It could have been alot worse,we were lucky so was Bailey!

Kat, glad the damage was no more than that.
Since there doesn't appear to be any damage to the ground between the things that were knocked down or over, it could have been a small funnel that never actually touched the ground but went thru your yard just above it.

Microbursts are bad things. One brought down an airliner coming in to land at DFW International Airport in August of 1985, killed 136 on board and one person on the ground.

Toni, it ripped out alot of trees here before, and they had people come see it,said it was micro burst,so that more than likely was the situation.
Glenda,were very lucky,Bailey is fine now,wearing a smile again..

Glad no-one was hurt Kat, looks like it was strong enough to do so. The spruce tree is proof of that. Keep safe.

Neither wonder Bailey was shaken. So glad there wasn't more damage and that everyone is safe and sound.

Oh my goodness!! Kat, that's so scary!
Glad it wasn't any worse, but I guess the Spruce tree is a loss.
Will the plants growing on the trellises be okay?
Poor Bailey, I guess he was in the pen when it blew over?
I'm glad his house wasn't blown over, too.
Give him a pat on his head from me, tell him I think he's a very brave pup.

We had a strange windstorm whip up a few nights ago. I didn't lose any trees, but a few big branches and a lot of small stuff around the yard. Even some of my gnomes were blown around! It was weird!
What's the difference between a tornado and a microburst?

Netty, tornados spins, and micro bursts are like explosions,i guess,
Polly,we are fine, a tree can be replaced, the dog is doing good, and in the garage with the cats tonight, probably terrorizing them, lol.
