I just joined Garden Stew today. I bought my first house a year ago, so I have a garden to play with for the first time since I was a kid. I planted a lot of vegetables last year. Unfortunately, critters and bugs got all of it except the potatoes, but they were yummy. This year, I'm planting more. Most of it is in seedling stage in my spare room: broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, tomatoes, snow peas, plus assorted flowers and herbs. I just planted a watermelon and a canteloupe, and also plan on zucchini and more potatoes. Last fall I planted dozens of bulbs and rhizomes, plus over 100 garlic cloves, almost all of which are coming up now.

I have five cats, four younger ones under 4 years old, and my alpha cat, who is 10. I write and edit for a living. I also study martial arts. In rare times that I have a spare minute, I also crochet afghans.

Hi SpringRain, welcome to the Stew from north Texas.
What part of Colorado are you in? I lived in Wheatridge for a year and Evergreen for a year..many, many years ago. I just loved the mountains.

Welcome to the forums Spring_Rain. I hope all your plants survive this year ans aren't attacked by any 'critters' or bugs. Do let us know how you get on with them won't you?
What type of martial arts do you study? My eldest son is a brown belt in karate and would like to take up kick boxing when he has some spare time. Very Happy
