We went to lowes today, hoping to buy picket panels, well you have to special order them.
But you can buy the boards and build them your selves,so thats what Me and Ron did.
Here are the start pics of it.We only have one side of the arbor done so far.
And a pooped Ron,after a long hot day.
We may not paint it for a week or so till some of the treated lumber dries.Ron would rather me wait till fall, but i dont think i can stand to wait that long.

It looks absolutely wonderful, Kat!
You all are doing a beautiful job, it'll look fantastic painted white
BUT . . . do yourself a favor, give that lumber a bit of time to "cure" before you paint.
Really, you won't be happy if the paint job is spoiled because you didn't wait.

Thanks Zuzu,Thats what Ron said ,it needs to cure.Terrible for a impatient person like me. Were both pretty pooped now , didnt eat supper till 9 thirty . But we had left over meatloaf and mashed potatoes , that helped revive us some.

It is going to look fantastic Kat but do give it time to cure or you will be sorry.

That is really lovely! Have you thought about staining it instead? I used a pigmented stain on my picket fence and really liked the results.

The fence is really coming on nicely Kat. Neither wonder the two of you were tired out after all that hard work. Personally, I wouldn't paint it at all. Like Critter Painter I'd simply stain it but, obviously, the choice is yours to make.

Wow, this looks excellent. A fence just adds so much. You Must wait on the painting though. My hubby comes across this problem with people wanting a new deck painted. It just can't be done till it's ready. It still looks Great in the meanwhile.

Looks wonderful Kat, you need to start on another project to get your mind off the painting.

Looks really good Kat. Hope you can find something to keep your mind off of it until the proper time to paint.

Thanks Glenda, ill try and wait. Will be busy doing the other side anyways.
Critter,i hadnt even thought of stain. I will keep that in mind, thanks.
Eileen, thats what keeps us going ,is staying busy.As far as staining or leaving it natural,I have more to think about now.
Netty, there's only so much time in the summer, and neither of us likes being cooped up in the house so we stay pretty busy during the nice months.
Bethie,im pretty sure i'll be waiting.I have a few more options i hadn't even thought about like staining.
Cajun, i think your right,on a new project to keep my mind off painting. Istill have few other things needing done here..
Toni, Thanks.I have several things i can be doing till that time comes, painting the rest of my wicker etc.

What a lovely fence, and you know, I would want it white. And like you, I am so impatient, I would have probably followed my hubby painting as he put the fence up! But wait, it will be worth it.

I had to laugh. You sound like me! But Ron was keeping me busy measuring out the spaces between boards ,so that way i couldn't paint behind him.

It looks great Kat. I too would be inpatient about the painting but as everyone says you should wait. And you may find that you really prefer the natural color instead of the white.

Ya patience isnt my virtue, but im gonna wait.I do like the natural color. But if i wait to long ,i'll end up not painting.
