I have papyrus in my garden Bethie but I must have a look for the variagted one when I'm in Holland. Do you know how tall will it grow? The one I have reached three and a half feet last year.

I dont know what a resting pond is either Cajun, but it sounds like a good quiet place Bethie must have to take a nap maybe.

Eileen, this plant is supposed to stay about 20 inches.
Here is the resting pond. It is a still water 30 gallon pond for me to "rest" plants like water lettuce and water hyacinth after the koi eat all the roots. I also have a water lily and other things. This gives frogs still water to lay eggs in also. I took this picture a minute ago so this will look better after it grows some.
My patio with koi pond is to the left.

I didn't know what it was either Bethie but that is a wonderful plant and I do love the pond.
