Good picture Bip. I love to hear the mourning doves out back.
Many years ago a neighbor was raising doves, he either moved and couldn't take them with him or he died and his family didn't want them, so they set them all loose. I have counted as many as 2 dozen roosting in one of our hackberry trees at night. But they do sound nice.

I can just make it out Bip, pity about the zoom Are they an unusual sight around your garden?
Also I hope you don't mind but you whet my appetite for Mourning Dove pics so here are some from Flickr.

Not really unusual, but they are very pretty
We also get Cardinals, American Robins, finches (purple or house and gold), Carolina Chickadees, Downy Woodpeckers, Grackles, Starlings, Cowbirds... thats about all I can think of right now ^_^

Your mourning doves look very similar to our collared doves. We have 'our' doves visiting the garden every day.

Im considering moving the pole a smidgen closer to the house, I actually had to sneak (sneak so I wouldnt startle the bird ^_^) into the sunroom to take a pic, cause its a bit too far from the computer window
