Remember when my Bleeding Heart plant got froze out about a month ago? It was just starting to bloom and then the next day it was a quivering mass of jelly. Well here it is today !

WOW!, CK; me thinks you have a marvelous microclimate there against that fence.

Very nice Capt. I should have a fence behind mine...every time it blooms we seem to get a good wind storm and the wind blows them off.

I was pleasantly surprised to see mine bloom too. At least now I know that they pop right back the next time it freezes late & won't worry so much.

How pretty, a very hardy little plant it seems.

That is not a fence behind it. It is an embankment, about 5 ft. tall. The plant is on the south side of it and that is why it does so well. It is pretty much protected from the north winds.

What a hardy plant, glad to see it survived.

I planted one about 3 years ago and haven't seen hide nor hair of it since then. Guess I might try one again sometime.

Well that's cats for you! Mind you dogs are no better - I had planted three different types of spring bulbs. Location depending on height and bloom time.

The dog (Dalmatian) decided that it would be fun to help Mummy by digging them all up!

Since I couldn't remember what bulb was what plant (they all looked alike) I just had to plant them and hope for the best.

Well the blue anemone's came up beautifully, but not where I wanted them! The other two were just springing up when the dog decided it would be fun to trample over them all so that he could get through the hole in the fence into the neighbours garden.

I have given up!
