Hi all, I just moved in to a new place. and I need some helps on decorating my rooms.
I have a dark cherry floors, and white walls. What colour of furniture do you think will be suitable for the rooms?

Thanks for the helps

Hi eewibisono, do you have any photos of the room to give us a better idea of what would look good? Personally with a dark floor I would be leaning toward dark coloured furniture also. See if can get a few photos and we will try to help you more Smile

Much depends on your taste in furnishings, I have seen sleek modern, burnished silver toned metals and glass with dark woods and it's beautiful, so first of all what's your style?

hi i think u should go for any warm color furniture scheme. it can be any shades of brown. as u said the wall are white so can try with some darker shades of furniture. so can also try black furniture that will look good.

Definitely darker browns, or black, Definitely NOT lighter woods.

Very Happy

My downstairs is Oak wood floors and stairs.. I have decorated in Oak dark colors an Oak light colors.. I also have a Good Cherry grandfathers clock, and recently purchased a dark colored easy chair.. I loved it ..

Heres an idea, try light color in one room and dark in another and see which strikes your fancy.. Borrow some from a friend just to see how it works..

Good luck.

With dark floors and dark furniture, you need to be careful not to go too dark with the walls. I'd suggest a cream color or other light neutral. Lighter colored accents (pillows, throws) on the furniture will help to keep the look from being too dark, too.

If you're not planning to paint, I'd go modern and perhaps get some furniture with a little red in it to pull the red out of the floor a little bit.

Maybe something like these chairs? BTW, we've re-painted this room to a warm brown/new drapes with red & gold, it's more modern now to match the furniture.

My inside walls are white......The outside walls are paneling......However it isnt modern today..
I dont like weird color walls with an oak floor.
