Does anyone know if you can root new plants from bleeding hearts cuttings? Like I broke some yesterday and stuck them into water. Will they root?

Hi there,
I've managed to grow bleeding hearts from cuttings and it's really quite simple.
Here are some tips.
If you cut about two inches from the tip of a plant, just below a leaf then this is the ideal type of cutting to take. Remove all leaves except two or three from the top of the cutting.
To root cuttings quickly place the stem approximately an inch into a small pot of moist vermiculite and cover with clear plastic. The plastic will keep moisture in the vermiculite. Place the pot where it will get bright light - but not in direct sun as the vermiculite will dry out too quickly. In a couple of weeks, gently tug on the cutting. If it is firm, then it has taken root and can be planted.
Another way of rooting cuttings is to place the stems in a small container of water and sit them in indirect light. Roots will eventually form, however, this method takes several weeks and the roots generally aren't as strong.

Thanks so much......i bought red and white yesterday and on the way home a ball of twine rolled on top and crush both......SO I have them in water and was hoping it would root.
However, I have red , real old and is starting to rot and thought I had to buy new ones...Wahhhhhhhhh.
Now I am going to cut off some of the old fellows and root a bunch......Some one was asking for them, and they died ..........
