I was so eager to make a garden totem and spent the week collecting stuff around the house.

After spending most of the afternoon weeding and working in the yard, I was very proud to display my totem. I think it looks nice for my first attempt and just makes me want to make more things!

The base is a ceramic flower pot turned upside down. Then a small glass plate with glass marbles glued along the edge, then a clear vase filled with marbles and plugged with an upside down small blue vase. A small blue candle holder right side up is on top of that with an upside down cut glass (or crystal) bowl on top. A blue fairy stands proudly on the very top. The totem is embellished with a strand of pearls and glass marbles.

Here's the result. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

I hope not either! LOL. Actually, they were given to me in a box of junk and look pretty worn. They're very fake but pretty on the totem.

I was thinking that a really tall woman's heel shoe would be pretty with a small plant planted in the shoe and cascading down. Maybe a red patent shoe. I could probably find a pair at the local thrift store and make another totem with the shoe on top.

WOW...I love the blue. Does it have a name or just the blue angel?

I must get around to trying one for myself someday soon.

Your totem is great. I've been collecting pieces for one, maybe this will be the year I'll get around to putting it together.

Eileen T you did a great job love the colors. What kind of glue did u use? A glass shoe next to her with a plant would look nice. I have a yellow glass slipper but wont do it because it was my Grandmothers as a child.

I used GE Silicone glue. It's waterproof, clear and indoor/outdoor. I bought it at our local hardware store.
