Thought you might enjoy these pics from the Grand Rapids Farmers Market. This summer we had 17 members and a good variety of things to sell. Not all members come every time and these pics are the vendors that were there one day. My garden was nothing to brag about this year but I did manage to go the the market every time. It’s always fun visiting with the shoppers and other vendors.

Yep! Smile Mine is the one that has the skinny guy with the beard, and it say's Kent below it. Smile

The veggies I had that day were green beans, onions, potatoes, napa cabbage, & kohlrabi.

Hmmm.... Looking at the picture, I think I had maybe picked about 30 lbs. of beans for that market.

Yes that's a lot of green beans alright Shocked I've just noticed there is a striking resemblance to your and your profile picture Smile

Did you sell all the veggies that day? I notice you had t-shirts printed up as well, very impressive Kent Razz One more thing what are you driving?

Hmmm.... Well my profile picture... Surprised about that, you see one Christmas I got the idea to try and draw a myself working in the garden and put it on my cards with the words "Hoe! Hoe! Hoe!" Wink

I don't think I sold out on the veggies, most days you don't sell out but get down to just a few left. Think I probably only had some onions to take home.

The first t-shirt I did was the one of me with Hoe! Hoe! Hoe! From there I started coming up with more garden & veggie designs to wear while selling. People commented that I should be selling the shirts and things kinda grew from there.

BTW - I drive a pickup truck with a box cover.

A lot of people feel the same way, they like talking to the farmers and knowing how the food is grown. For some, I think they are remembering all the good stuff they had in their own garden when they were able to garden. Smile And for us farmers, it's nice to getting to know the shoppers and seeing them appreciate all the goodies. Surprised It's also been fun getting new recipes for stuff. Last spring I put the collected recipes together into a book. It took a while to do and lot's of proof reading by a neighbor, but it did turn out nice and sold fairly well this year.

Mostly I try and stay under the shade of the canopy at market since the sun can get pretty hot some times. That's why my picture is kinda dark. Besides, some of the other vendors are much more photogenic. Wink Michelle's kids for example, they loved hamming it up for the camera. Very Happy The one with Tanner behind the flowers is a nice one.
