This is the birdcage I bought at the junque shop last weekend. I found a purple Betony to put inside it.
Amanda and Randy gave me this waterfountain for Mother's Day. One of the projects for next weekend is getting the powercord out to it. Cosmos is planted behind it, the 'so dark purple it looks black' Aeonium hybrid 'Zwartkop' is around the front and I found the gorgeous limey green Helichrysum petiolare 'Lemon Licorice' for the planters on either side. And that is my usual purple Shamrock in the green leprecon pot to the side.
I found two of these beautiful dwarf Dahlias.
The Bluebells and white clover are in full bloom in the faerie chair garden.
And last, but not least, two Pineapple Sage.

Everything looks so nice and colorful nice mother day gift. The chair and the purple Shamrock in the green leprecon pot are very creative.

I love your bird cage.The Betony in it really stands out.I must find some pineapple sage.I have never seen it before.Love the photos.

WOW I really like the birdcage and the waterfountain Toni!!!! The planting around the WF is perfect.  I wish I could grow dahlias but every time I try to the earwigs munch them to shreds.

Thanks ya'll. I too love the way the birdcage came out. I am really looking forward to the plants around the water fountain filling out.
I have never grown Dahlia's before. I saw a huge purple one last weekend, I lusted in my heart but passed it by but when I found the dwarf ones I just had to give them a try.
The pineapple sage will get almost 4 feet tall and have bright red flowers this summer. The flowers are edible and the leaves have a strong pineapple fragrance, once it is established I am going to use some of the leaves in iced tea.
I will have to repaint the faerie chair this fall. I used the wrong kind of sealer last year and the paint is beginning to peel off. The white clover over wintered in it, in fact it bloomed all winter long too.

I collect birdcages so I'm lusting over yours. I'm unfamiliar with betony. Does it have a common name? I grow tons of that purple shamrock. It looks really good in that green pot. Do you dig it to winter it? I adore dahlias and grow all kinds. Everyone should have pineapple sage. It's so nice to smell a leaf when you are wandering around the yard.

My Shamrock usually overwinters just fine, but with the actual winter weather we got last year I was caught off guard and didn't bring the pot inside in time so I had to replace it this year.
The Betony is Stachys 'Sentimental Journey' I can't find another name for it tho. The grower is Proven Winner and the tag indicates that it is an annual in zones other than 10 and 11.
