Well, I don't know where this one came from. I bought two packages of bulbs two years ago, the Stella d'Oro and Grape Magic. I have been waiting sorta patiently for the Grape Magic to bloom but so far all I have gotten are the Stella's. The last few days some of the lilies have sent up some really tall stems with huge buds on them, but they did not have a purple tint to them so I figured they were more Stella's...until this morning.
This one opened overnight and there are 4 more buds on that stalk. This one is pretty, don't get me wrong, but I want my purple ones too
Anyone, know the name of this one by any chance? Also, doesn't it look a bit deformed? The seed looking things that are part of the stamen are attached to the edges of some of the petals.

Toni I can't find one like yours but I'll keep looking. It does seem to be deformed I have to say. Let's hope the rest of the buds look better and then I may be able to find it. I hope you do get the purple ones you wanted and that they're not all the colour of your photograph.

I love that color but like you I love purple flowers.

Looks like a happy accident to me. (Maybe some purple next time?)
How cool would it be if its a new variety no one else has...? A new name? Mistress of the Garden? Since deformed...Le Gardin Junque?

Still waiting for my lillies to bloom.
I planted three bulbs that I bought from a local supermarket. No idea what they are, the packet just said 'Oriental Lillies'
Two are growing well, the third sprouted an inch above the soil then stopped. Last week I saw a weird little scarlet beetle on one of the leaves. I now know this is a lily beetle, so am checking each day for others! What I can't figure out is, how does he know I've got lilies in the garden?!!
Anyway, I'll be happy if mine turn out like yours. Deformed or not - I'm just grateful when anything I put in the earth sprouts flowers

I think it's quite lovely, Toni.
The closest that I found is one called "Double Pompom"
It even has the somewhat ruffled edges on the inner petals.
I actually think yours is prettier than the one in the photo at the link.
edit to add:
Oooh, maybe Wuvie will check in and confirm,
I just found one of her pix online, she grows Double Pompom.

Stay on top of those beetles teddy! I have been fighting them on my Lily patch at work for years! Nothing kills them and I have gone back to hand picking them with a pail of soapy water. You have to look carefully on the undersides of the leaves for the tiny eggs and wipe them off too.
Nasty little things they are!!

Zuzu, the one in the picture at the link you sent has the seed looking bits on the petals also. Wonder if they are supposed to be there and not a deformity.
Another of the non-gold lilies bloomed yesterday, same peach color as the other one. There are buds on stems from a couple of the other bulbs, hopefully at least one of them is the purple magic.

Wow, I agree with some others, deformed or not I think it's gorgeous! It's almost like a double bloom in the same pod. I love it!

That is a very pretty color on a lily.. I thought it was supposed to be that way.. Not all are shaped the same.
Nice work.

Well I have to say, if this is not what you were expecting it is still a fab flower. If you do manage to get your purple one, please post of picture of this as well.
