This is our new water feature for the birds to enjoy. It's a large black plastic shallow pan that goes under hot water heaters. We followed pianolady's kind instructions and it works fine. It takes the place of an established birdbath so already has plenty of customers. They love shallow, running water.

How wonderful looking Bethie. You will have lots of fun watching the birds out there.
What do you have growing on the lattice behind the water feature?

Oh Bethie, it's beautiful! How did I miss the directions for doing this? I've been wanting to do a shallow birdbath...
Speaking of ponds, did our resident pondlady disappear? Haven't seen any posts by her or by MuddyBob in a long time.

Critter, Muddy just disappeared. I miss her. Pondlady took offense and left.
Toni, that's a clemmie. I also have a moonvine starting to grow. That's a fairly tall post with a birdfeeder on top it.

Guess that's a hazard of talking with people without actually Talking to them, misunderstandings are too easy. Yep, Muddy lives not far from me & I was hoping to show her my garden when she got down this way, alas.
Anyway, I'm still going back to this pondlet, I'm definitely inspired for the next sunny day!

Bethie your water feature must be a paradise for birds - a little oasis especially for them. I think you've done a really great job. The trellis and lanterns really set it all off and the waterfall must sound wonderful. Very Happy

Beautifully done, it looks so very peaceful.
I'm certain that it provides great pleasure for the birdies
and the "peeping bethies" who watch them bathe.
