I read an interesting article this morning about experiments done to test the 'luckiness' of willing participants. Have a read yourself:
The loser's guide to getting lucky
Do you count yourself as a lucky person? Unlucky? Don't believe you can influence it?
A really great quote from the page which sums up luck for me:
| Quote: | | "luck occurs when preparedness meets opportunity" |

Frank,
Your quote on this reminds me of a saying we used to have in my golfing days; 'I've noticed that the more I practice, the luckier I get'!!!

Frank, I used to consider myself to be unlucky, I never won lotteries, giveaways, I seem to pick the slow line at the food store, get stuck in the slow lane in traffic, miss the game winning shot, and on and on. However, upon second look, I have the best wife, the best daughter, a wonderful son in law, and wonderful grand son, we are living a good life in our retirement, I have reasonably good health, so when it comes to the important things, I believe that I am very lucky.
Tom

Inspiring post Tom, very well put. It is indeed easy to lose sight of what we have had real luck with.
