funny the computer doesnt tell me when I plug the camera in th USB port.
The problem , It read Card Error, and wont operate at all.
I tried a new card, no results. New batterys, no results.....It keeps saying Card Error......

Well basically there are really two possible culprits here, either on the camera side of things or the computer side. If you try it on another computer and it works you can rule out the camera side of things as the problem. Personally I'd hope it is just a problem with the card itself (my guess is that it is).
Try it out on a different computer and be sure to report back

FRANK,
Right now I hae the camera working on both computers.
So ......this going to confuse me more.
Took your advice and put it on the older computer with the software, it isnt plugged into the internet at all.......I guessed all the way on that on.
When i took out the battery and the xd card and blow hard into the holes ......It began to work again.
Just keep in mind , this camera has taken thousands of photos for me.....I keep it set there , not removing the xd or batterys......
So the greatest suprise of all is the Old computer up loaded a movie , that the new machine would not?????????? Now I am scrating my head alot.
Your so wonderful to share ideas.....Dont know if this luck will last, but both computers and camera are working again........
Let me know what you think.. The old one was saying something about Initialize?????????
All greek to me.
Now GIve yourself a nice hug for me.
I will keep trying .
Thanks alot.

Great news Barb! Just a theory but maybe introducing it to a new environment (i.e. the new computer) forced it to do some re-initialising and reset some settings in the camera or on the card itself. All conjecture but very possible.
If it happens again and repeating the above process fixes it again then my bet is it is/was a software issue and not a hardware issue.
For now though enjoy it and I'll keep my fingers crossed that it stays working!

Not sure I understand this sentence Barb. Does this mean that it is working again or not working after you repeated the steps you used to fix it before?
