I'm having a few problems with my computer today and have been working hard to try to find out where the problems are - someone's been fiddling around while I was away I reckon.
I've no sound (it says no sound device connected - strange as everything was fine when I left) and I can no longer get it to read CD's or DVD's??????????????????
Can anyone help?

It sounds like someone has definitely been tinkering around with it alright.
Have you tried:
- Rebooting?
- Starting the computer in Safe Mode and see if everything works ok?
- Opening Device Manager and checking whether the driver software for your sound and CD drive is properly installed?
- Reinstalling any sound software that came with your PC?
- Reinstalling any CD drive software that came with your PC?
- Running your antivirus and spyware programs?
I wish I could view it first hand Eileen as it is alway harder to explain this stuff. Let me know how you get on.

Sorry about your computer problems. I had to buy a new computer to fix mine. I hope you have better luck. Do you know who tinkered with it? Maybe they can tell you what they did. Dooley

I had a rather important document to scan and print off today for posting but when I did the print came out green!!!
However, if I just print something the print is black as usual.
I reckon that it's obviously to do with the scanner but I've changed everything I can think of and it makes no difference - the print remains green.
I need to have the document posted off asap so can anypne shed any light on what could be wrong and what I should do please?

Eileen,
Ours has done that before and it was from some of the color nozzles being clogged so it couldn't properly mix the colors. We ran it thru a cleaning cycle and it cleared out.

Mmmmmmmm ..... didn't work. Gave the document to Ian to photocopy at work for me. Let's hope it still gets there in time or I'm in BIG trouble.
