First, thank you Bethie for steering me in the right direction!
I kind of "speed weathered" it. I know they are supposed to have time to leach out the alkalinity. I read about giving them a long soak in vinegar water to neutralize them.
I wanted this to have a very primitive "carved out of a boulder" look so I am pretty pleased! Today I'm making mushrooms!

NO, lol, those are just real stones!
I would like to find some of those, they are so interesting!
This is what I've got:
Bear Paws- crassulacea
Sempervivium Bronco
Sedum Sarmentosum
Pacific Mayfair Hens and chicks
Emily Hens and Chicks
Raspberry Ice Hens and chicks
and Burro's Tails
Now hopefully I don't kill them!

LOL! They look like the living stones!! I had some of the living stones and they were awesome but I guess I watered them too much and they died! I love succlents and have thought of making a collection of them as you have but just have never gotten around to it. Your's look great!

Thank you, I do the same thing (over water) so I made the soil a pretty sandy mix. I love them too and hope to have a bigger collections some day.

It's hyper-tufa madness! A lovely form of insanity.

I like to go out in the garage on rainy afternoons and play in the mud. I recruit a couple of my sons to help...they are very intrigued with hypertufa.
