I guess most people are done with their outside work and are settling in by their fires. It warmed up today so I went out and put straw around the base of all my new bushes and trees. Then, I raked up about half of the leaves. I decided to leave the ones piled up where I planted the bulbs. Some are already starting to come up so the leaves may protect them some. But, the directions of some said they would come up and grow through the winter and bloom through the snow. I'm not sure we will have snow. The ground will not freeze so they are probably going to grow too fast. Maybe the leaves and straw will help. Oh, well! Tomorrow I might bake cookies. But, I broke my 4 quart saucepan so Brian says we should go look for another one. You can't cook cornmeal in a small pan. It spatters too much. Dooley
