|
I thought this little whreath was a real cutie for 50 cents I got it Friday at the thrift store.
I also found a small hanging basket. It said it contained a Bogonia bulb and a big pellet to plant it in.I knew the bulb was dead but the package had never been opened and it was marked .25 cents . I thought the little basket was cute and for a quarter why not.
When we got home later that evening I figured I would plant a small ivy in it and hang it up over my kitchen sink .I took everything out and to my surprise the bulb was sprouting .I followed the directions on the package and got it planted
This is what I have today for a quarter. Its still small but has really grown .
I'm hopeing nothing happens to it.I have no glue as to what kind of bogonia it is or color.
First day I checked it. Friday
Saturday
Today Sunday. It is growing so fast.

Way to go Glenda!! My grandma used to grow the most amazing begonias. I haven't tried one in a long, long time. You have encouraged me to try again
Deanna
part of the fun is waiting to see what color it will be. I love the anticipation, kind of like Christmas!

Glenda...what color was the begonia? You should know by now with so much time passing.
I bought a small one to keep outside this summer and it was beautiful. This was my first try growing begonias. It was a beautiful bright yellow. I hated to let it go into the recycling area but I had no room in the house to bring it in when I was cleaning up the yard for winter...

That is just fantastic
You guys have lovely thrift shops - great finds.
The thrift shops here is not half as fruitful when it comes to gardening and plants. They mostly stock homemade trinkets, and the like - great if you are into crafts.
