Does anyone know how long it takes to get them going? I've just planted some passionflower seeds....mollissma and I've been trying to get some aristolochia started. I've heard these can take quite awhile to get started so I am hoping to find any shortcuts or tips.

Seeds are like baby, they need more attention than adult plant. Remember to soak the seeds before putting them into the soil and don't bury the seeds too deeply (for faster sprout) .Thereafter keep the soil moist during the waiting period. Some indirect light on the soil is useful for the seed to "see" its way out. It usually takes about 2 weeks to show sign of success. Last but not least, young leaves are an attraction to many insects so try to protect them during the forming stage:-P

I take nail clippers and nick the seeds and then I soak them over night.
I planted them in a light weight potting soil and it does take a while for them to germinate.Keep the soil damp and they should start sprouting not sure how long Anna.

I just got seeds for the flavicarpa variety so I am going to try this with them. The other seeds are for the banana passionvine and they have yet to sprout. The aristolochia looks like little papery seeds...you wouldn't think they would take so long to germinate!
