Ms. CA Compost Queen here.
I got some seeds from a friend and need to have someone ID them for me.
They had pink flowers close together and may be from the Mallow family.
Chrissy said she thought the plant started with a D. Will take a photo and post it next time. I am clueless! 
Do we have any Malva experts in this stew pot?

Hi, welcome to the Stew from north Texas. Don't forget to post an introduction of yourself in our Welcome to GardenStew forum so we can all get to know each other.
My, have you picked a family (Malvaceae) of plants with many members.
I have dwarf hollyhocks, standard hollyhocks which are the Alcea Genus of it, and Hibiscus (aka Rosemallow) is
the Hibiscus Genus. Even Okra is a member of the Malvaceae family.
Mallow is the common name for several closely related members of the same family.
There might be some help in seeing a picture of the seed, but even more needed is a picture of one of the plants your friend got the seed from. Pictures of the leaves, even if the plant is not in bloom will be helpful.
Looking forward to that picture so we can help ID your seeds.

You are very kind to reply so quickly. Now to figure out how to send a photo of the stems with seed pods attached along with close up of the seeds.
Have you a home email I might be able to send photos to perhaps?
Haven't a clue how to post photos on this site nor time or energy to figure that out either. Ha!
Tech challenged I am!

More tech challenged than you think. Tried PhotoBucket and found there is a fee to post. Am I right? Already pay Vendio and other FTPs to post my website and cannot take on the added costs right now. Any way to email photos directly to someone for ID on this Malva seed issue?

There is no fee to post photos on PhotoBucket, it's very handy to have an account there as you find that there are many places around the Web where you want to post a photo on.
Tell you what, I'll post your photo for you just this time if you promise to give PhotoBucket another go  Email the photo to the email address listed at the bottom of the site. Deal?

That is what it appears to be, in which case it is neither a malva or mallow. Dierama pulcherrimum
