I went for a little walk this morning around our property. I happened to notice a Caterpillar happily munching on some milkweed. As I walked around, I noticed that ALL the milkweed has Monarch Caterpillars! I don't remember ever seeing so many!!
Here's a few of the shots I took.

I can't wait Toni! Every single Milkweed plant I looked at had eggs or caterpillars of various sizes. My camera wouldn't focus on the small ones.

Fantastic shots Netty. I can just imagine a cloud of Monarchs fluttering over you garden. Very Happy Hope you manage to capture some of the butterflies with your camera when they emerge.

I have a weed patch I let 'stay' so I can move the little buggers from my parsley over to their milkweed.
I'll have to look and see if anyone is around yet. Hmmm...

They look so happy! I've had more than usual this year too!

What kind of milkweed is that? The leaves look really full!

I'm not exactly sure Anna. It grows wild around here. And there is LOTS of it!

Does it have pink flowers? I didn't realize there were so many types, but there is this one called Spider Milkweed that has flowers that are pale green and violet. I've just bought seeds for the Family Jewels variety...dontcha just love the name? I think it has to do with the seed pods....
