The Mali Uromastyx is from Mali, in Africa. They are a desert reptile, so they need high temps, lots of ultraviolet light, and low humidity. They are plant eaters, and get all their water from their food, so you never give them water. They get around 16 to 24 inches long.

Thanks Dan. I love finding out about different reptiles. Very Happy My daughter has a Wester Hognosed Python here which also needs heat, untra violet and infra-red lighting. It requires very little water as it seldom drinks but we keep a container of water in its vivarium as it also needs high humidity. It's diet cosists of mice at the moment until it matures completely when it'll probably be able to have half grown rats.

Bubbette looks like she got run over by a car over her middle! She is very interesting. How old is she and how long have you had her?

She's flattened out more than normal, soaking up the heat. Near as I can figure, she's about seven or eight years old, and I've had her six or seven years.
