Asian Beef Kabobs

Preparation time: 15 min.
Cooking time: 5 min.


2 Tbs. brown sugar, packed
1-1/2 Tbs. dry sherry
1-1/2 Tbs. soy sauce
1 tsp. dark sesame oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 lb. boneless beef top sirloin steak, cut into 1/4 inch thick slices
3 green onions, cut into 1-1/2 inch pieces
8 mini bamboo skewers, 6 inch

Marinade time: 20
Combine first 6 ingredients in a bowl. Place beef and half of marinade in a plastic bag, turning to coat. Close securely and marinate in refrigerator 20 minutes. Reserve remaining marinade. Meanwhile, soak bamboo skewers in water 10 minutes and drain. Remove beef from marinade and discard marinade. Alternately thread beef, weaving back and forth, and green onion onto skewers. Arrange on broiler pan and broil about 3 inches from heat source 3 minutes and turn. Broil another 2-3 minutes, basting with reserved marinade.
