|
Can anyone identify this Daylily? It is a beautiful red-orange color and I would love to get more of them. I don't know much about Daylilies, but if one of you seasoned gardeners could give me the proper name for it maybe I can get more!
Thanks in advance.
Steph

Sorry Steph but there's no photograph to ID I'm afraid. Could you try reposting it please so that we can help you out?

I would like to find out the names of some of mine too. I think when you buy them in a group, like all trumpet lilies, or oriental lilies they don't give you a specific name with them. Usually just by saying they are red, yellow, white, etc. Maybe if you can remember when they bloom you can figure out what type they are and you might get lucky again and get another if you order that pacific type. I hope I explained this well enough for you to understand me. I think I might have one like you have too.

Hi Steph,
I agree with Sherry8, your plant appears to be a true Lily, most likely an Asiatic hybrid,
rather than a Daylily (hemerocallis).
I can't say for sure what the name of your cultivar is,
but there is a beauty named 'Razzle Dazzle' that you might like: CLICK HERE

In Wisconsin some people call this lily the ditch lily. I dug them out of an empty lot where they were going to build apartment houses and I planted them in my woods. When we moved I made sure I brought some with me. Your lily is a lot darker than mine. I have found out that different areas have different names for the same flower...

Steph - those look just like the Lilies I had at my old house. I bought them in a mail order and they were labeled "Red Corina Lilies".
Sherry - I have those orange lilies here and we also call them Ditch Lilies. The whole east side of my house has them and when they are in bloom it looks fabulous!

Hello
I had to drop by and tell you here in the state of Maine we call those "outhouse lilies" and any camp with facilities have those around the perimeter. It is a nice touch. diene
