Hello there,

I am a new gardener. I decided to plant hydrangeas and zinnias, and they are doing well, but I am scared that I won't be able to keep them healthy since I don't really understand how to take care of plants.

I have read a lot about taking care of plants, but it gets confusing at times. I hope I can get help with any questions and problems I may have from the members.

My first concern is how much sun should hydrangeas be exposed to? They get full sun all morning, until about 3pm.

Also what kind of fertilizer do I use for zinnias?

Thank you very much.

P.O.

Choose a location with morning sun and afternoon shade.
Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Amend poor soils with compost.

Don’t plant under a tree as there will be competition for moisture.

This is advice I read at a different site.

Here are two websites that you might like to take a look at.

One is all about hydrangeas and the other about Zinnias.

Hope they help you out. Very Happy

Morning sun is fine. It's the hot afternoon sun that the hydrangeas don't like unless its filtered. I have my hydrangea in morning sun with a little filtered afternoon sun & it's a happy plant! Keep your plant evenly moist, not wet.
