Yesterday I got to the end of a loaf of bread. So I threw the 2 heels out in the front yard for the birds. The bluejays usually swoop down and grab them up. Well last night they were still out there. When I looked out, two of the neighbors cats were out there eating bread! Well, tonight we had lasagna and garlic Texas toast for supper. There was one piece of toast left over and no one wanted it. So I threw it out for the birds. Well I looked out a while ago and the same two cats were out there eating it. They better hadn't breath on any other cats! No carousing around for them tonight! I've never seen my cat eat bread Capt. Are they stray cats?

We had one that would tear into a loaf of bread every chance he got. A friend would stop over after having gone to the store, leave her car window open and he would get in and get her bread everytime. She finally got the message and started putting her window up when she came over after shopping.

Better that the cats eat the bread than the birds. I gave away 10 cats today. Every time I feed the birds, the cats eat the birds.

They aren't really strays, they belong to my neighbor, but they roam around a lot. But I think they go home on most days.

Almost every cat my parents owned had a ravenous appetite for bread. Home baked, shop bought bread no difference. Is bread seen as an unusual cat food?

Our cat won't eat it. He only likes cat food. And the soft bones fron canned salmon.

2 of my cats eat bread of any kind (muffins, toast, bagels, etc) in addition to catfood and treats. Another 2 won't eat the breads at all. My cat Jane will eat anything you give her, including fruit and veggies.

I don't know about cats, we don't have one, but Chance won't eat bread. I gave her a piece off my sandwich today and she took the bread outside and buried it. I gave her the heel from the loaf and she took that out and buried it. We used to bring her our rolls from the restaurant. She always took them out and buried them. I thought maybe we would have bread trees coming up in the yard but not yet. I wonder what a bread tree would look like? Would it have square leaves? White or brown? It would be a sight to see for sure. dooley

Dooley, I think that the birds get the bread trees before they get a chance to get started. Did you ever watch a Robin hopping around your yard, that's what they are doing, looking for bread trees breaking the ground. What's really a sight, is our cow tree, where Deputy buried that bone. Kind of noisy though, all that mooing you know.
