Well, it is a member of the Legume family, if that is any help. Indigofera perhaps?

I agree with the legume family. I have indigofera and my flowers hang down like wisteria flowers, but this could be a different variety.

When you have over 16 metres of shelf space of gardening books, mostly on plants, it becomes harder and harder to actually find anything! I am still looking for this one.

all my garden books are for local plants, could you check yours and see if it could be some variety of Wisteria?
