I picked all of my pears and made pear butter. It tastes really yummy.

My pear tree produced absolutely nothing this year as the bullfinches filched all the flowers before they could develop. Sad

Pear butter is made by cooking pears, putting them through a colendar so they resemble applesauce, adding sugar and a bit of salt and then cooking it down and putting it in jars. It is a very thick spread to put on toast, etc.

Sounds good. Add a little ginger. Makes it even better.

Richard's Mom and aunts made pear honey and I never did get the recipe. It was very delicious.
