So what's your favourite flower? People get very attached to their garden and I'm sure you have a few favourites or maybe one always catches your eye. It may be a functional space-filler or a high-maintenance vision of beauty. Regardless list it is this hall of fame

Hi there Planttrader and welcome to GardenStew. Hope you're going to enjoy the forums as much as I do.
Do you have many different types of iris? Some of the new colours (such as Mandarin) are gorgeous aren't they? I'd love to see a few photographs of your iris.

Hi,
I have around 50 different colors of iris.
Each spring I divide and give them away for postage to friends.
I have a data base at my site with 5 pages of pics of mine and other members irises.
Most of my friends are in the US or Canada.
I am looking forward to looking at pictures of flowers in other countries here.

Haven't a clue what colours mine are going to be  I planted soooo many bulbs all at the same time and managed to mix up the labels  Never mind it'll be a nice surprise when they open.
I'd love to see your orange ones B_G - any chance of a piccie?

I will take a pic soon with my digital camera.
I had red bettles on them earlier called 'Red Lily Beetles'.
Once they are on the liles they eat them away really quickly and lay eggs.
A friend told me to spray sunflower oil on them and it worked!

Great tip there B_G!!! Thank goodness I haven't had red lily beetles near mine - maybe it's something to do with our weather - who knows? Looking forward to seeing your pics.

I have an "amazon series" dianthus that I love, zinnias because of their gorgous colors, roses and peonies for their beauty and scent, Lavender for the scent.
But strictly for looks my fave is one that I dont have and always wanted...poppies! (planted some seeds and nothing  )

Hi Cheryllynne,
I've got loads of poppies in the garden at the moment oranges, reds, pinks, blues and yellows but what I've always wanted is a white one - can't find any around here though.
Tip for you:
"Poppy seeds can lie dormant for years until the soil is tilled then they suddenly sprout up on mass and can cover a whole field, making it look like a field of blood."
Sooooooooo maybe if you disturb the soil where you planted them they'll come up for you next year? Hope so anyway.
