From Raleigh, NC. Started growing about 3 weeks ago and is in about a patch of 5x5ft. in my turf fescue grass.

First two are pics of what grows out of the top after about a week or two.











Roots, after I pulled these varmits.......

Ermmm, maybe I'm way off the mark,
but those look a good deal like the flowering/seeding parts of Centipede grass,
and that last photo shows that it is a running grass, which is also consistent.

I have it but it puts out grass burrs.If its the same thing.I have never got rid of it.
