Went to the doctor this morning, a surgeon, for the biopsy on my thyroid. He agreed with Andy on the radiation treatment. He says no surgeon is keen on operating on the site of an older operation because of the risk of complications and going through scar tissue, etc. Anyway he did the new ultra sound and the needle biopsy. Andy thought he might do three, but he did 12. With 12 different needles. I was warned not to breathe, swallow or try to talk while the needle was in. So, the nurse would say, needle in, needle out, breathe. Of course, I immediately wanted to cough. It was numbed so I didn't really feel pain but you can feel something. I left with a huge headache. Tension, I suspect. The back of my neck is sore from the angle it had to be tilted at for the biopsy. It's better, but I'm glad I didn't have to go to work tonight. No results before the holiday weekend and another appointment on Sept. 10th. dooley

Bless your heart - I know that was a terrible thing to go through. Let's all join in prayer that everything will turn out just great.

Not a pleasant thing to go through at all Dooley but I hope the results are fine when they come back. I think one of the hardest things is waiting to hear the outcome of tests. Fingers tightly crossed for you.

Dooley, what an ordeal. Waiting for results is the pits, especially over a holiday weekend. Got my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for a good report next week.

I'm feeling better today. My headache is gone and my neck isn't too sore. I still have some red marks from the needles. It isn't too sore though. I'm really glad I didn't know there would be twelve needles though as I might not have gone. The doctor did say that he thought it was more cystic goiter and didn't expect there would be a problem but no one would do the radiation without the biopsy. dooley
