I woke up to 5°C temperatures and became painfully aware that summer is over. The Sedum is blooming and that means that there are only 2 more things left to bloom in my gardens: the variegated Obedient Plant and the Monkshood. After that, the show really WILL be over.
The Sedum is at it's peak. This one is huge and will be split into 6 pieces next spring.

Found this Dahlia bud and wondered if it would ever get a chance to bloom before the frost hit.

This is probably the last Canna bloom this year

The cooler temperatures have made the Verbena come alive again

One lonely Poppy trying hard to bloom

Apples are ready to be picked

Seeds pods are ready to pick too.

I just love this Rudbeckia Triloba. It's been blooming it's heart out for weeks and still looks good!

Lovely flowers, Netty. The sedum is a real comfort to me too.

Netty I feel the same way about my own garden at the moment. Everything is still quite colourful but the weathermen have already predicted our first frost. I just know my garden is going to be colourless very soon. Sad
Still I have all your beautiful plants to appreciate as I watch mine slowly dying back for this year. Very Happy

That sedum is especially beautiful. I believe you will make it through the winter by looking at the great photos of glories past. Cool

Thanks all for the kind words. Autumn is always such a depressing time for me. I hate to watch (helplessly) while my plants wither away. I so much prefer the heat of the summer when all the plants are in their prime. In the Autumn, all I have to look forward to is the winter. At least in the winter I get to look forward to the spring when everything comes back to life. I hate the cold and I hate the snow. I think I should move to Texas where summers are long and winters are short! Hey Glenda and Toni...are there any vacancies near by?
Or maybe I could crawl into Zuzu's glass house for the winter?

Heheh, it'll be a tight fit in that glasshouse, Netty,
but you are certainly most welcome . . .

oh . . . Shocked
keep an eye out for Frank while you're in there,
he said he might move in there too,
Embarassed since I haven't yet completed his Gnome home.
