It locks automatically after 3 months of no activity. But sometimes we lock topics manually, i.e...we lock the Caption Competition topics once the Poll has begun for voting.

Ya know, that's happened to me on several occasions, too.

Maybe there are some areas in the Stew
where the topics could remain open to reply for longer than 90 days?

Crafts and Hobbies occurs to me, for one.

I'll look into that Zuzu. Some of the topics are suited to conversations that take place over months rather than days i.e. project topics. The tricky part for the code behind the site is to know which is which.

If ever anyone wants a topic unlocked just let the moderators or I know and we'll do our best to accommodate it!
