Hubby brought home a beautiful cluster of berries that turned out to be bittersweet. Now I've found out that usually these are propagated in nature by going through a birds digestion. To grow these you need to ferment them first to emulate that. This bittersweet is just beautiful.I really want to grow it. You need male and female plants for berries. Any seed fermenters out there with advice? Smile

Eileen, thanks so much. That is exactly what the doctor ordered. Cool Hubby saw this twelve foot vine climbing a tree and covered with berries so he brought me a clump home to ID. They were the size of round grapes and yellowish in color. I didn't know WHAT they were. They set outside on the table for several days and opened up into beautiful bittersweet. I hope I can grow some. Cool

Anyone grow this?

We have it growing wild around here Bethie. It seems to have few pests and grows in just about any soil, but seems to prefer full sun. Very drought tolerant too Smile
