I am curious if others here have watched the British TV series called "Rosemary & Thyme". It ran only 3 seasons and starred Felicity Kendal and Pam Ferris.

I bought the DVDs of all 3 seasons and love the show. Who would have thought that two freelance gardens would end up digging up plants and digging up clues to solve murders!

The first season is somewhat bland, but season two and three are much, much better in my opinion.

So, for all you gardeners who love British mysteries and gardens - you'll have to either rent the videos or perhaps buy them via Amazon, Overstock, or other vendor.

Yep, I have all three series on DVD also. In fact I have been rewatching them this week while knitting. There are some continuity problems with at least a couple of the programs and they certainly shouldn't be taken as serious murder mysteries but they are fun to watch. I really enjoy the gardening aspect of the story.
Felicity Kendal has been one of my favorites since watching Good Neighbors (or in England knows as The Good Life) back in the 80's
I like Pam Ferris too but haven't seen her in much else.

I haven't seen the show myself but I know many members here love it.

Toni you should definitely check out a series called "Darling Buds of May". Pam Ferris plays the mother in it and it stars a pre-Hollywood Catherine Zeta-Jones (she was the one of the big reasons I used to watch the show Mr. Green). It's very entertaining and very British.

Just checked on Amazon, the collection is available but for between $50 and $80....I'll keep an eye out for it at Half Priced Books or I can see if our library has or can get it.

Toni,

I am glad to know that someone else likes this show as much as I do. Do you have a favourite episode?

I have a few, but love the episode called "three legs good" where the dog, Holly, is starring. I also like the ones where they go to the South of France, Spain, and Italy.

It's nice to hear that you like Felicity Kendal too. I have the entire DVD collection of "The Good Life" as well. I think I like that show more than most of the Brit shows - considering it was filmed in the mid 1970's.

Anyone else here love Rosemary & Thyme?

I watched it after a guest at work commented that my helper and I looked like Rosemary and Thyme. I had never heard of the show before that. I liked it but have not seen it in the listings since.

None of my channels have run it, so I wouldn't know. But I do love "Darling buds of May" that Frank mentioned.

My husband watches the series but I have to admit that I'm not a great fan. I'd rather see them doing some real gardening than uncovering bodies in every garden they work on.

Guess I missed that one! Now, the older Jonathan Creek, love those (but very little to do with gardens, lol!)
