I've grown Hosta from seed before Barb. They are very slow growing at first so you have to be patient! It took a good 4 years before they were a nice size.

I never let my hostas go to seed due to the short summer and the uncertainty of what I'll get. I've got lots of hostas, and not all types will come true from seed. Besides that, I'm a bad sower.

Hellebores here will start in spring. I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Don't worry about the seeds, bsewnsew, just post some photos or find out their name so I can go get them as ready plants. I'm crap at sowing. Whatever I want more of I let self-seed. I do want more hellebores, I only have six or seven.

I have to ask a little bit more - what color were these blooms to start with? How tall is it?

I have a Helleborus foetidus - it's about 70 cm tall with green, large flowers in a cluster on top and stinks when I cut it back for winter.

Then I have the H. niger, with the single, white flowers, and I think the dark red, very early one is purpurescens or something like that. I also have three mixes. One is white with a bit of green and some freckles inside, one is kinda pink/purple, and one is pale red on the outside and green inside. They're all about 30 cm tall.

The seventh died on me last winter, I remember now.

What I'm trying to find are the double ones. They are gorgeous!

Blooms color was just what you see>>>>>.Green
I purchased 3 this year.. And the other 2 are much smaller and did only abour 4 inches with about 3 branches..I notice now they are doing more..

I have no idea sbout anything.. First time here. Hoping the others are different colors.

Now there is a different plant that has another name, I can't find it right now.. Was wondering if it is the same......

Thanks

The link will take you to a Norwegian web site with lots of lovely hellebores. To the right you find a window with lots of text in it, and last one down but one is the hellebore show. Enjoy!

They only let me print 3 .
