The Monarch butterflies are migrating through West Texas. We found several dozen fluttering & roosting in our backyard this evening. My brother-in-law reported, he's got a bush covered with them out in the country. My daughter was fascinated by the phenomenon. My wife & I had seen this several years ago, when a friend's willow tree was covered with thousands of them. Here's a few shots I got in the dim evening light. We'll keep an eye open to see if we get more.

Let me at'em, I want some! Love your #2 shot. We've had very little butterflies this year, no wonder, so thanks for letting me share yours.

Must have been an absolutely amazing sight WT. Love the piccie of your daughter. Like Droopy, we here in Scotland have seen very few butterflies this year because of the dreadful weather we've had throughout the summer.

We haven't been on the migration path in a few years but we do have a few flitting around this week.
Where my Mom lives has been on their path more than us. It is an amazing sight to see what looks like clouds of them all around you.

Great pictures!
A few weeks back while sitting out with some friends, we observed dozens of Monarchs flying by. I guess it took them that long to get to Texas

I am hopeful, that we'll see a lot more of these boogers. When we went out to feed the dogs, there were about 30 of them flying around. The dogs barked in excitement over suppertime and my daughter kept ooohing & aaahing out loud over the sight. I think the noise drove some away, so by the time I got the camera out, there were only a handful still there. My wife told my brother-in-law to take pictures of his butterfly-covered bush, so if he did and I get my hands on them, I'll post those too - or get him to join GardenStew & post them himself.

The latter would be the best, if your brother likes posting photos.
