That does seem to be the result - the next time we showed him his ball he ran over and jumped in, as always (he LOVES his ball, you have to turn it upside down and shake him out of it sometimes, he won't leave it). He's happily ripping around on the floor again. Time will tell if he's learned his lesson about the barrier by the stairs I guess - of course, now it's even higher.
