Well, I'm giving up on some of the panes in my old greenhouse, they've slipped downward in their tracks over time and been 'mossed' into place, refusing to tap back up without threat of breaking, cemented by old, cracked adhesive. We can replace them with new panes, but first we have to figure out how to get them *out* without spraying the garden with bits of glass.

One thought we had was maybe running duct tape over them and then breaking them out that way...but I don't know...

Any of you had to do this? How did you get the old glass out?

I once watched a neighbor break out a plate glass window,
they first covered it inside and out with contac paper.
Same sort of thing as you describe with the duct tape,
but complete coverage on both sides.

Honestly, Confused I don't remember too much about it -
I believe I may have been having a cocktail on my side of the fence as I watched -
there were no problems, that I can recall . . . no sirens, anyway. Cool

Contact paper is a great idea - cheaper than that much duct tape too. In fact, I think I have a roll of it left from when we covered some library books a long time ago... thanks for the input, zuzu.
