Glendann came to my house for a visit this evening! Very Happy I like her being retired, she has time to visit now! It was already dark out but we took the flashlight and looked around my yard a little. She carries her camera with her everywhere so she was able to snap a few pics for me!

This pic of my scarecrow turned out wonderful! The pumpkin looks like it is glowing, because I had the flashlight shining on it so Glendann could take a pic. I think it looks so neat! Very Happy
We also found this fuzzy caterpillar snacking on my air potato vine!

You can't really see in the pic but it has bright red spots on it's back. Can anyone ID it for me?
Thanks Glendann for the visit and the pics!! Stew Face 1

Your scarecrow looks very comfortable sitting there. Laughing I would dearly like to pet the caterpillar, it looks like a cuddly toy.

Very nice scarecrow, indeed! Nice shot of the caterpillar too. It looks to me like a woolly bear caterpillar. We used to see them quite often when we lived down state.

Great lighting affect on the pumpkin, your scarecrow looks really cute.

Does the caterpillar have red spots or a redish-brown stripe around the middle section and black on both ends. The wooly bear has black on both ends with the stripe around the middle...they turn into a white moth -the Isia Isabella Moth.

The Air Potato is on the most invasive vines list in Florida and you have to have a permit to introduce, possess, move or throw it out. It is called air potato because the bulbils it produces look like potatoes and grow in the air. The bulbils drop off the plant and root and before long you have a major problem.
I have also been reading that it is becoming a problem in the Houston area. Don't know what or how they would do in the far north.

I always have fun when I go to Jubabe's house. The stripe runs around the middle of the body , toni.It looked like it was in between the fuzzy hairs at first but I went back to the picture and pulled it up close.

Love your scarecrow, Jubabe. And the flashlight does make it look like it has a light inside it. Wish I wasn't so far away, and I would come over also for a visit Wink

Julie, your scarecrow display is wonderful, I love the way you have him posed and the lighting is awesome. You are lucky to have Glenda so close by. I wish we lived close so we could help each other plant and weed, it would be fun.

I always heard that fuzzy caterpillars are stingers, don't know if it is true or just a myth.

I had some air potatoes introduced in some bags of leaves given to me. I pulled them immediately, except one on a post in the back, I am keeping a close eye on it and pull the potatoes off and destroy them. If it gets out of hand it will go to.

I like your scarecrow and pumpkin and fall flowers. I just hung my scarecrows on the fence. Now, I will have to do some serious thinking before next year. I'm glad Glenda has time to visit now, too. I've always wished I could travel through space like in sci-fi stories. Beam me over here or there and be there in minutes instead of hours. I'd always worry about getting back together in the right way though. dooley

Dooley I wish you could travel through space too!The mental pic of your time travel and getting back together in the right way made me giggle!Smile A visit from you, DR and chance would be wonderful!Smile I wish all our garden stew friends could get together for a visit! It would be great huh? A Stew family picnic! Smile

I'm trying to keep an eye on the potato vine and if it starts to get unruly I plan to yank it out like Sharon!! Wink

I always heard the black fuzzy worms would sting too so I didn't dare touch him as badly as I would have loved to!Wink
