I went out yesterday afternoon and started down my porch steps this peacock hen was finally coming into my yard for insects.

She was so close and her colors her beautiful.

This one may show her colors better

Then away she goes around the back and meets up with her sister to go to their adopted home.

Great photographs Glenda. Needless to say I don't have anything as exotic or beautiful visiting my garden. Sad

Splendid job at capturing such great photographs of her! We don't have anything colorful or exquisite here either, eileen, so I can relate.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments. The peacocks don't belong to anyone. They adopted everyone but mostly tina (jubabes sister and her family) They have horses and the feed is good over there plus they started buying food for them.

They are beautiful! I like it when they occasionally make their way down to my house and eat with my Guineas. Smile

The closest I've ever gotten to a peacock is at a zoo and you get to have them right in your yard. How gorgeous. What great picts Glendann.

They are pretty aren't they? We had Peacocks at my work many years ago and as the story goes, they used to dig up the gardens and harass the guests. They eventually got rid of them, some say that the owner had a taste for them...

Lovely photos of lovely birds. I like to look at peacocks, but wouldn't want to have any myself. Their voices are awful.

well now, you really ought to refer to your place as an estate now, having regal peacocks strolling the grounds & all. They aren't very bright birds though, are they. A horse farm up the road from me has one and it likes to mosey over to the gas station & beg for french fries.

The closest I can relate to is the humble pheasant, nothing as exotic (to my eyes anyways) as the peacock. Good work capturing her for all to see Glenda.

Wow, that's sure something, to have such birds come right up into your yard. Up here the closest we can get is wild Turkey's. We had a Turkey that adopted a car repair shop as his home, and he lived there for 3 years. His name was Bob, and he often stopped traffic, and chased passing cars. Until one day someone hit him. I'm sure glad that it wasn't me that hit poor Bob, as he had become quite an attraction. He made the local radio & TV news a couple times. Not quite the NBC Peacock though.
