Have you ever found something you enjoyed making but after making a few you realize that you have no idea what you will ever do with them, therefore they sit in a drawer....alone and almost forgotten?
I painted these tiles a couple of years ago after seeing similar pictures in several stores and being a coffee lover...a cheap coffee lover at that....I decided to make my own. Someday the perfect idea for their use will come to me and they will be ready.
They are 6" white ceramic tiles bought at Home Depot and painted with Sharpie markers. After the paint 'cures' you can not scrape it off, but they need to be sealed before I put to that perfect use just to be safe.

What wonderful vibrant colours your tiles are Toni. Is that more painted tiles that I can see in the background? Can we have a peek at those ones too? Hope I'm not being too nosey. I'm sure you'll find a use for them soon.

That's a neat idea! Who'd have thought you could use sharpie markers on tile?! Very creative, indeed!

Wow! I love them! Who would of thought Sharpie would make such beautiful paint!! You really are a creative lady Toni! Hope you find a place for them soon.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity Toni. I just knew that the tile that was hiding would be something spectacular!!! I love the way you use your colours together and continue the pattern around the side of the tile.

Thanks you all. You all are certainly helping me become more confident in my ability.
One of Amanda's teachers in elementary school had each student make a christmas gift for their parents by painting on a small 2" tiles with Sharpies, then she used a hot glue gun to attach a loop of braided cord to the back. It is still hanging near my kitchen sink.

Lovely tiles, toni, but I have no idea what you might use them for. The colours are so vibrant and I suddenly need more coffee.

I have a stainless steel serving cart. I think I would add a few more and tile the top shelf. It has wheels and pushes around. I use it more on holidays when I need space to set things. Your's are sure colorful. I didn't know you could do painting like that with Sharpies. dooley

They're great, Toni!
I was thinking along the same lines as Dooley,
I can just see those as the top of a serving tray,
filling in the spaces with more painted tiles,
or even a mosaic of broken tiles.
I used to really enjoy ceramic painting, myself.
I haven't done that for years,  shame too, it was fun.
Somewhere around here I have a dragon painted on tiles
which I originally intended to incorporate into a bathroom redo -
 BOY!! Has my taste ever changed!

Wow, I really like these. Looks like something you would see on the wall in a bistro or cafe'. I love bright colors. These started out as glossy tiles, right? We're going to do a few things in our kitchen this winter and something like this would make a nice backsplash over the counter, not near the stove where they would get too greasy. I wonder if water poly would seal them up good? I actually have a stack of these tiles bought for some purpose years ago that entirely escapes me now. Maybe if I drink some more coffee I might recall.....

Wow, those are really pretty!!!!! Wouldn't have thought sharpies would give such rich color. It's hard to find a plain-ol' cup of good coffee around here. If I decide to revive the concept of coffee that doesn't cost 4 bucks minimum, I'll be sure to refer back to your design prowess!
