I know that some people consider the maple tree to be obnoxious/noxious but I'm happy to have this one now that it is developing some colour. I have lived in this house for about 5 years and as you can imagine, the tree was only a teeny-tiny stick when I moved here. It really has grown. There is a baby scrub oak just to the left of it that was also planted by the previous owner. I couldn't bear to pull them out even though they were planted way too close together. All the green in the background is from pussy-willow shrubs that grow behind my house (at the top of a ravine). To the left, there is a little clearing in the bush and the neighbourhood kids love to climb to the top of the ravine and toboggan down it in the winter. Fun for me to watch from my kitchen window with a hot mug of tea. [img]

I just love Maple trees and yours sure has some great color newgrowth. We have 3 big Sugar Maples on our property but they have already lost their leaves. Somehow I forgot to get pictures of the colors this year.

What a sweet little maple you've got! I'm very fond of maples, but can't have any since they grow so big.

I don't have enough space for large maple trees but I do have four Japanese maples in my garden. Three are red and one is lime green and I love them all. Stew Face 1 I'm even thinking of buying another two this coming spring. Mr. Green

Your maple is gorgeous Newgrowth and I think I'll be on the look out for two that colour or that, at least, change to that colour come autumn.

What a nice shape on your little tree. A beautiful sign of autumn. I have lots of maples and love them all.

I too love maple trees, they provide such great fall colors, they grow relatively fast, and a neighbor of ours has enough maples on his land, that he can get 30 to 40 gallons of Maple syrup each spring. I'm sure that you will love your Maple for many years.

I sure hope my maples take off like yours did. I have one in the front yard that did very well this summer and a little red maple that is making an amazing recovery after being the victim of the riding lawn mower Rolling Eyes
