|
Hi Everyone...
Can anyone suggest name of OR recommend source for:
Groundcover having "White Star in Blue Circle" center ?
My recollection is I found a ground cover,
AJUGA-like,rather flat-type.
I could be mistaken, but I recall a blue-green leaf system,
with Center having a flat White Star in a blue circle.
That is what I'm seeking.
Thanks, Joseph

Sorry, I don't know much about ground covers. I'm sure someone will come to your rescue soon. Rarely is anyone stomped by a plant on this site.

It could be a periwinkle or a gentian JosephBus. Try Googling for blue-flowering ground cover plants. There are many photographs available too so that you can see the blooms and know instantly if it is the one you are searching for.

Hi,
Do you mean a viney-like ground cover such the Vinca minor, or something more compact, like the 'Grace Ward' Lithodora?...or flowers on a single stalk like bluebells or hycinths?
There are an enormous amount of ground covers to think about.

Thank You Digital Flower...
Vinca Minor / Periwinkle is VERY beautiful...BUT...
I'm still seeking the White star inside a blue circle,
again encircled by a golden halo...

Joseph,
I saw that you posted this in the UBC Plant Id forum. In my experience if they can't help you nobody can. There are the most knowledgeable group on the internet in my opinion. So I think you need to get a little more information to get an identification.

WHew, tough one. Sounds like it's awfully important to you, so I'll keep racking my memory, can't seem to come up with anything but blue morning glory. Do you recall what sort of climate you saw this in? I mean, was it on a trip overseas, or at a granny's house in Wisconsin? Two extremes but it could make a big difference. I'd give a hearty second to the mention of doing a search on Google Images. I've become un-stumped several times there!
PS, here's a page with the morning glories http://www.blitzworld.com/Morning_Glories/index.htm
Don't know what you mean by Ajuga-type, perhaps salvia? Or maybe even wild lupine, we have those on the prairie here and they can grow to cover quite a bit of ground while staying quite low.

Thank you DigitalFlower & CritterPainter.
I believe some guy in Italy raises these White Star in Blue Circle cicumscribed by Golden Ring" flowers.
I wonder if there is there an Italian Nursery club?
Anyway, thanks guys for all your thoughts...Joseph
