OK not strictly a pet but I thought this was the best forum to put this in.
A woman in Colmbia found a lion cub, who was wounded and hungry. She took him home and raised him till he was too big to keep at home. She then took him to the local zoo, but she visits him every day - Check out this link to see how he greets her!

Awwww.
My Maine Coon does much the same thing. That's how he got himself adopted out of the shelter. I put him in my lap, and he put his paws around my neck and nuzzled my throat. That sealed it. Had to take him home.
