We've had a couple of mild days, and guess what decided to cheer up a dreary looking garden:
It's a Helleborus, I think it's purpurescens, but my gardening encyclopedia otherwise known as "Mother" is unavailable today.
This hellebore flowered in January and I had not expected to see her again this side of New Year, but I'm very pleased that I do. She'll be gone with the first heavy snowfall, of course.

How pretty, that is a good surprise to cheer you up for a few days at least.

Hellebores certainly cheer you up during months when very little else is flowering. However, mine don't start to show their faces until mid-January so it's great to see yours Droopy.

Thank you all. She's still out there.
Eileen, mine normally flower in spring, when the snow is gone, from March onwards.
