Bees in the house! How can I get rid of them?

Apparently there was a nest somewhere in the walls and mom tried to patch it up, only she did a poor job of it, and now we've got a colony of bees living with us! I want to get rid of them without having to kill them. After reading about all the troubles bees have been having, I feel more sympathetic towards them. Im not afraid of getting stung, but we have dogs and cats that have tried to eat them, and Im afraid theyll get hurt.
Should I try contacting a beekeepers organization about them?

The only way to safely and sucessfully get rid of them is to call a beekeeper. There were several cases of bees taking up residence in houses around here a few years ago and the beekeepers were busy people.

A beekeeper will know exactly how to get rid of them for you Jen without doing them any harm and he/she will be only to pleased to take the colony away for you too.

Giving them a little dose of smoking to them I guess would help you. that won't do a great harm to them, But betterway you seek for the bee keeper.
