The lilys were started by one given to me by my sis.
I didnt want it and she made me try it .. Guees what  Love them and keep adding all the time.
Would not be spring without.. I get so many compliments....
Toad lily is just like my blackberry lily..It is orange with spots..........

Nice blooms Barb and Sjoerd.
I grew those Spider Zinnia's this year. The blooms were beautiful except I thought the colors seemed kind of wishy-washy. Barb, were any of yours bright colors or were they all pastels?

Bsewnsew and Sjoerd, lovely flowers both of you.
That Toad lily is gorgeous - what is it's scientific name (if you know it)
It is the first time that I see such a beauty.
And Bsewnsew, that orchid of your is lovely, you Zinnia is stunning. ANd those daylilies - simply stunning - beautiful colour.
Is that perhaps a Phalaenopsis orchid - otherwise known as the Moth orchid? I am amazed that it is thriving there by you.

Trichyrtis hirta. There are several hybrids with their own names.

...Toad lilly...it is actually the Tricyrtis formosana "Purple Beauty".
I believe the "hirta" has it's blooms along the leaf stem...sort of like Soloman's SAeal, except on top instead of hanging downwards.
Barb: those orchids of yours look gorgeous. And that species of Amaranthus I have never actually seen I have only seen and had the red ones.
When I visited the Fiji Islands, the inhabitants there told me that they used to eat the long red flower "tails" when they nibbled on their meals (they were cannibalistic up until the 1800's.

Ah Barb...you asked if I was retired. Ha ha ha... don't I wish. (well, not actually. I like working)...but I have travelled so much because that's the way I planned my life. I worked 2-3 years then would take-off and travel until a certain financial point, then return home and work for a number of years again...then off again travelling.
I once had a nice job there in Amerika working for a big company, and when discussing salary, etc. I negociated having 3 months a year off---so I travelled during those months. Then it was back to the grind.
That was one thing that I liked about amerika: that many things were possible...you just had to discuss them.

Such pretty flowers. Nice to see the pretty colors too instead of looking out my window and seeing snow. Was just looking back on this thread and how it started out with soup and now into flowers. Great, keep it going.

Thanks Droopy and Sjoerd for the information.
Petunia is right. The stewbies have developed an affinity for forked threads. Though I do not mind at all. I enjoy it and seeing all those beautiful flowers makes it all worthwhile.
Oh gosh talking about work and retirement. I thought I was retired.
I was just offered a contract - 18 months - to work on sidewalks for a small farming community.
I am considering the idea - but on the other hand I actually quit my previous job after I finished that specific contract.
